SKC - Profile
Sri Kaliswari Trust formed by a team of Philanthropists with youth and wisdom acquired
over rich experience, embarked on starting a college of arts and science under the
name and style of Sri Kaliswari College to provide value based higher education
and to mould the students to be fit for the new millennium.
The Government of Tamil Nadu in its G.O.No.190 dated 07-06-2000 graciously granted
its approval to start the college in the academic year 2000 - 2001. It was affiliated
to Madurai Kamaraj University.
The college is housed in a 17.5-acre campus in a three-storied Palatial Building
on the Sivakasi Virudhunagar Highway, at a distance of about 7 k.m from Sivakasi.
The college, which was started with just three courses in the year 2000-2001, is the fastest knowledge - disseminating
light house among the arts and science colleges in South India now
has
13 Under Graduate courses, 6 Post
Graduate Courses, 2 Research Programmes
and 1 Diploma Course affiliated to Madurai
Kamaraj University
Besides the College conducts variousJob Oriented Certificate Courses
with a view
to help the students to acquire additional skills, which will help their academic
pursuit and also to increase their employment opportunities. The Certificate
courses on
Industrial Safety, Safety Matches and Fireworks
have been more specifically developed, offered and approved by Madurai Kamaraj University
to suit the local
needs.
